Sky, Leaves, Rocks

We spent much of Sunday afternoon lying stretched out in Hannah's moving box fort in the backyard.  Here's a shot of the view of the sky from the fort.  Makes me remember fondly the amazing fort my older brothers constructed in our basement out of moving boxes when we were kids so many years ago.

Looks almost like a scene Monet might have painted -- until you realize it's a fleet of leaves that fell off our neighbor's tree and into our pool.  

Hannah's 2nd grade class took a field trip to see Slim Goodbody perform.  I met them for lunch in the park afterwards and snapped this photo of Hannah (on right) with her best friend Ashley.

It's amazing how much fun you can have with a big mountain of gravelly rocks at the park.

Blossoms, Braces, Etc.

We finally removed pressed flowers from the flower press Olivia got for her birthday and were delighted with the results.

I finally had my braces removed.  Below, the before and after.  I actually look better in the before picture!  I just look weary in the after shot.

The girls celebrated the 100th day of school.  Here's Olivia sporting the hat I made in the wee hours of the 99th day.

Micah actually used the potty several times (but didn't -- many, many more times than he did).

Camping

A few photos from our camping adventure this past weekend.  Sure seems like a lot of work for just one night, but the kids do enjoy it.  Micah keeps talking about the pine cones and the marshmallows and the FIRE!

Just a handful of photos I snapped of the birthday boy today.  He's so grown up all of a sudden.  Some of his recent favorite sayings:

• It was an ACCIDENT.
• Just a second, Mom.
• Leave me alone.  It doesn't matter, Mom.  Doesn't matter.
• Awesome.
• I'm not happy/sweaty/smart/loud/two [whatever -- just fill in the blank].  I'm a good boy!  (apparently good boy on the one hand and everything else on the other are mutually exclusive)
